Welcome to my deck review page, where I share my thoughts on Tarot, Lenormand, and Oracle decks, along with some of my favorite spirituality and divination books. Whether you're looking for a new deck to connect with or a book to deepen your practice, you'll find honest reviews and personal insights to help guide your choices. Let’s explore these together and uncover the ones that speak to you.
Hi Kev! It’s your frequent flyer. 😉 I’m going to put into practice the great idea you gave me about practice readings and getting to know the cards. I was wondering if you had any beginner book recommendations that I could reference to check once I tried to read the cards I pull. I need something not too heavy as my tired brain can’t cope with too much at the moment. Would appreciate any recommendations you could make. Thanks, Anne 🙏🏻😊
For a book. hmmm. The one that comes to mind is Seventy Eight Degrees of Wisdom. But if all you need are the keywords, I would just reference the booklet that comes with the deck. They are decent and great for a quick lookup.
That's too funny! These are great resources! Before I got sick and discovered Tarot, just like card decks, I collected books and searched for free on-line courses. The problem with that is that it was way too much. I have Rachel Pollack's book and a lot of others. Lisa Papez published a book based on her Tarot with Training Wheels courses and I have that one, too! I do want to understand a little more in depth than the key words, but I also recognize that I can't scour numerous books to understand one specific card. Part of that is that I'm not sure how my memory will behave in trying to memorize card meanings and key words. I may have to create a cheat sheet to start until it is ingrained in my mind or write key words on a deck of cards (definitely not my Albano-Waite!). Some days I just want to give up altogether because I am not a spring chicken anymore and am running out of time. (That's the illnesses talking - sorry). It's not in my nature to give up, and I know a solution will present itself. I may start with three random not too complicated books and, with the help of your links, will see how I make out. Thanks for getting back to me and for the great tools. I look forward to reading like you some day - fingers crossed! :)

It's funny you ask as I was ging to start to add this to the newsletter. It you want a quick major arcana look up, I put this together: https://wordswithatwist.substack.com/p/the-major-arcana
Minor Arcana coming soon. I do have a few videos that I go through the suits pretty quick giving meanings. They can be found here.
