Today, as I look at these two cards, it makes me contemplate a few points. As writers, we’re always considering our next storyline. Yes, we have faith in our abilities (Queen of Swords) and await the next opportunity to share our tales out into the world. We transform our prose when needed and never heed negative influence.
Well, at least, we shouldn’t. But when we do, even for a moment, we must use our intellect and extinguish the fire (Three of Swords Reversed). Perhaps the critique was harsh, but we’ll heal once we put our egos to rest. We can’t take comments as personal attacks if we wish to become successful writers. Each comment only helps with our next piece. But, because the swords sit in full force, we see how it’s our minds working against us. Not the person giving feedback.
Our minds can drive us insane. We take on twisted journeys of discouragement for no reason other than allowing it to mess with our heads. We’re our own worst enemies. But when we realize this reality, we heal, we think clearly, and once again lay down our lines of creativity.
Remember, our minds create our realities. Therefore, we need to have faith in ourselves and always engage our ideas. Like trained soldiers, we must prepare to attack the page when a story comes to mind. And as long as we don’t let ourselves get in our way, we’ll create beautiful masterpieces for the enjoyment of others.
So, I say, go, rise to the occasion, and write. Let the words flow freely from your mind. And, whatever you do, don’t become disheartened. Instead, let the critiques fuel your creative passion.
