I sit and ponder on what drives us writers mad.
Why do we get agitated at times? What block’s our creative flow? The answer lies before us with the trio above. The Three of Pentacles, the Magician, and Judgement reversed.
If we step back, open our minds, and be honest with ourselves, it’s us. None other than numero uno, who’s taking our steam away.
We know we have all the skills required for success. And maybe, we set our expectations a little higher than needed. We lift ourselves up to a level of how good we have to be instead of letting the creative flow pour out of our souls. Instead of bouncing ideas off others, our trusted friends. We end up producing a creative blockage. It makes us stumble in our minds. Hence, frustration kicks into the high heavens.
But here’s the kicker. We obtain within ourselves all the skills required, as shown by the Magician. We hold the elements in our hands, which we know deep down in our souls is true.
So what do we do? We revert. We lack faith or refuse ourselves the use of our abilities. It then further delays the creative process and drives us into full-blown writer’s block.
Instead, we must learn to break free from our own limitations and go with the flow. Because when it all adds up, 3+1+20 = 2/4 = 24/6, we have total harmony and the motivation to move forward (6). Not the irritation we lay upon ourselves.
The next time we get our panties in a bunch, let’s slow down a little, take a deep breath, focus on the goal, and carry on.
Why? Because we got this, and deep down, we know it.
